Mandate and Activities
The mandates of ICAR-ATARI are as follows:
- Coordination and monitoring technology application and frontline extension education programmes
- Strengthening agricultural extension research and knowledge management
The ICAR-ATARI, Zone VI, Guwahati takes up the following activities to achieve the above mandates:
Planning, guiding, monitoring and reviewing the activities of KVKs under its zone
Identification, prioritization and implementation of various extension activities related to technology integration and dissemination
Coordination with host institutes, ICAR institutes, line departments, financial institutions and NGO for effective implementation mandated activities of KVKs
Partnering with Directorates of Extension Education of SAUs and CAUs for assured technological backstopping to KVKs and appropriate overseeing of KVK activities.
Serve as feedback mechanism from the projects to research and extension systems.
Maintain close liaison with ICAR headquarter particularly with Division of Agricultural Extension for preparing reports, write ups and other important documents.
